Tube necking (or to say swaging) is a forming process to reduce the diameter of the end of the tube. The tube enters the deformation zone under the action of an axial force, causing tangential shrinkage plastic deformation in the deformation zone, and then enters the stable zone, ultimately forming a reduced end diameter.
Tube swaging is to reduce end of the tube to fit itself or to the specified dimension by customer.
